Reasons to choose Washington National

  • Premium-return feature

Many of our products offer premium-return features. With these options, your clients can get back their premiums in some cases regardless of claims. Since 1995, we've returned nearly $3 billion in premiums to our policyholders.1

  • Broad family coverage

Many Washington National insurance policies are available for the entire family, including spouse, children and grandchildren. Our voluntary universal life insurance includes family coverage regardless of employee enrollment. Our universal life insurance also provides the option of increasing coverage each year without additional underwriting.2

  • Wellness options

Many of our policies pay for medical screenings to help families maintain their health. We also offer an additional physician's office benefit rider on our accident plan with benefits payable to diagnose and treat injuries not covered by a base policy.

  • Continued care benefits

Our policies have first-occurrence and indemnity benefits, lump-sum payments up to $75,000 upon evidence of diagnosis, and an innovative annual care benefit that helps cover the cost of therapy to help prevent disease recurrence.

  • Health advocate service

This service is available on some Washington National policies and helps clients navigate the healthcare system to maximize their insurance benefits. A personal health advocate will work on your client's behalf to answer their questions and resolve clinical and administrative issues.

  • Discounts on prescriptions and more

Our Rx Savings plan—free to all policyholders and their family members—provides valuable savings on prescription drugs, vision care, hearing care, diabetes care and medical supplies.3

  • Critical illness and life insurance options

We offer several benefit options with our critical illness and life insurance options, including lump-sum benefit payments, indemnity benefits, as a rider on our voluntary term insurance.

  • Multiple underwriting options

Our individual policies are easy to sell with simplified issue underwriting. They also include an option for guarantee-issue. Payroll deduction can be offered with a minimum of three covered lives. Our underwriting staff is also experienced in helping agents manage group participation and premiums to effectively takeover or open new accounts.
