Washington National has returned $4 billion to policyholders with Premium-Return.1
For almost 30 years, we’ve offered products that include premium return benefits to show commitment to our customers. An insurance policy that gives your premiums back may sound too good to be true but that’s exactly what Washington National’s premium-return feature does. Here’s how it works:
In the event of a major health event, the physical, financial, and emotional costs can take a toll. Supplemental health insurance from Washington National Insurance Company can cover many of the costs that aren’t covered by your major medical insurance. But if you don’t use it, you won’t lose it.
Many of our policies offer a premium-return feature, which means after a certain period, policyholders get back the premiums they’ve paid, regardless of claims or minus claims, depending on the product.2
With the premium-return benefit, you can receive all premiums paid at the end of the specified period, depending on the product. Alternatively, if you reach your 75th birthday earlier, the return will be provided on the rider’s anniversary date closest to that birthday.
Once your policy reaches maturity, you can continue your protection… and collect again.
“20 years ago, when I had three family members die of cancer, I decided it was important to cover my family and I if the need arose. Fortunately, I never needed the policy, so today my premium was repaid. Thank you Washington National!”

“I bought a cancer policy from Washington National to protect me if I got cancer. The agents were great to keep in touch with each year. I ended up not needing to use it and so I received my return of premium.”
